Storage Systems Consultant

Note: Relocation and Signing Bonus Available for Qualified Applicants.

Qualifications: The Storage Systems Engineer should have deep skills and experience with storage area networks and related technologies.  This person should be experienced with implementing storage solutions, including various replication and backup technologies, along with broad skills in other supporting enterprise technologies:

  • 4+ years of implementation, support and administration experience with EMC storage technologies in Windows and UNIX environments, including:
    • CLARiiON, Celerra and VNX(e)
    • Avamar, NetWorker, Centera. RecoverPoint and Data Domain
    • NFS, CIFS, iSCSI
    • FibreChannel, FCoE
  • Additional experience supporting other enterprise technologies and services, including:
    • Cisco routing & switching technologies
    • VMware Virtual Infrastructure (vSphere, vCloud, View)
    • Other Storage Area Networks (NetApp  FAS, Hitachi AMS)
    • Cisco MDS or Brocade fibre channel switching
    • Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat or SuSe)
  • Professional communication skills; written and verbal
  • Familiarity with common business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • 4 year degree from accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
  • Desired certifications include EMC Proven Professional (EMCTA, EMCIE, EMCPE), and any other vendor-specific enterprise technology certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, CCENT, VCP, etc.)

Responsibilities: The Storage Systems Engineer will be a key member of our team, implementing storage solutions for our customers.  This person must have experience working in complex, multi-vendor environments, performing implementation activities, troubleshooting a wide variety of problems, and working with customers to solve their technology issues. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following list:

  • Implementation of EMC-based solutions in customer environments
  • Troubleshoot issues related to implementation or integration with legacy customer infrastructure
  • Train or transfer knowledge to customer, as needed
  • Create or update documentation related to design or implementation activities
  • Assist presales engineers and account managers with technical questions or proposal generation
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other Clearpath employees about EMC and storage technologies
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures
  • Work outside of standard business hours, if required
  • Perform other tasks as directed
